COURSE CURRICULUM

  • Design of Structural Steel Compression Members, Tension Members, Bending Members & Beam-Columns

    Steel Section Properties like Moment of Inertia, Sectional Modulus, Major-Minor Axis, Slenderness Ratio and Radius of Gyration are explained in detail with examples. Laterally Supported members, laterally unsupported beams, Compression members, Tension members and Beam-Columns are taught in detail with practical definitions, Hand calculations and Excel Sheets.

  • Design of Equipment Supporting Steel Structure as per IS800 with Seismic and Wind Analysis as per BIS

    Structural Arrangement Planning and Modelling of Steel Structure with Shear and Moment Connected Frames. The Dead Load, Live and Seismic Loads are calculated as per IS1893:2016 Part 1, IS875-All Parts and IS1893: Part 4. P-Delta Analysis and STAAD Design commands such as LY, LZ and other relevant parameters are discussed with practical examples.

  • Design of Built-up Lacing Columns and Steel Trusses as per IS800: 2007 and IS875: Part 3

    Practical concepts of Truss Configuration, Planning, Tentative Member sizes and Specifications are explained. Steel Truss made of Box sections and Double Angle Sections are designed. Columns made of Double channels with Lacing angles and Four angles lacing columns are designed in STAAD with practical examples and implementation.

  • Structural Design of PEB Large Industrial Steel Warehouse as per Indian Standards

    Design a big Industrial Steel Warehouse as per Indian Standards with Wind and Seismic Analysis and Load Calculations. The design commands i.e., LY and LZ parameters are explained. Optimization and Size Selection of beams is explained.

  • Design Calculation of Plate Girders and Gantry Girders including Fatigue Analysis

    Design of Laterally Supported and Unsupported Plate Girders for Thick Web and Thin Web including Tension Field Method and Post Critical method.
